Spay Day International, February 24

trap2
We’re urging everyone to join responsible animal lovers worldwide, in getting our pets and strays neutered this month! If you have noticed strays around your living or working area, why not make this the month that you trap them for spay and neuter, which is the kindest way to reduce their numbers, while giving them the best quality of life possible.acat_walkr
We can loan you traps, show you how it’s done, and point you in the direction of lowcost operations!
There are all kinds of ways to help, if you are limited on time. Volunteer to be a driver, trapper, or releaser, and we can connect you to folks who need this specific kind of help. Donate ¥10,000 to spay 1 female cat or ¥5,000 to neuter a male, and we will do the work for you!
a_cat_computerSend us a mail telling us how you’d like to help or how you’d like to send money. In this case, please let us know whether or not you’d like to remain anonymous. You can view icons for every donation received, and a photo of the cat whose operation it paid for, here.
We’ll also be out this month in front of home center stores, and other public areas passing out fliers about the benefits of spaying and neutering pets!

Good work. Spay/neuter is the key issue to reduce animal suffering and improve the quality of life of cats everywhere.

Though I see you are a no-kill organization, I believe that there is a time and place for euthanasia, which can be the most humane option, for example, and animal exposed to high level of radiation. For me, the issue is quality of life, not just keeping numbers of animals alive. One of their needs is social/physical contact. This need can be hard to meet in no-kill shelters.

How are locals who want to keep their cats doing at this point? Please tell me where to read about the current state of the situation post-tidal wave crisis, nuclear plant vis-a-vis cats and their owners, etc. Thank you, TAnya, Washington DC USA
