Japan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA)
We don’t currently have much information about them. They apparently have 2 shelters in Japan. (In Japanese only).
Small Animal Support Association (SASA)
Satoya Boshu (Japanese pet adoption site)
This is a good site to use for rehoming rescued animals, though all information must be entered (and accessed) in Japanese. Animals over 6 months of age must be neutered or spayed and vaccinated before listing. Be sure to have good pictures, and a good description of the animal’s character. As with all forms of pet advertisement, be prepared to screen potential new owners carefully.
Heart
A great No-Kill animal welfare organization in Tokushima (Shikoku). Regularly visits animal control facilities to help improve conditions and to rescue dogs or cats for re-homing. Rescue and adoption numbers are very high. If you are in the area, contact them to adopt a cat or dog, or ask how you can volunteer.

A great place to buy a variety of good traps and accessories for TNR. These are the best traps that we have used, and are well worth the extra cost to get them to Japan. If you are traveling to the States, and are willing to bring one back for us, please contact us!

We have recently had an order with one or two kinds of vitamin supplements, and over the counter skin care products for pets stopped at customs in Japan, and were then unable to receive them. There are no refunds, in this case, so proceed with caution.
