General meeting tomorrow to talk about organizational issues…we’ll be sending the Sponge Bob group to Tokyo, all of which have found new homes (2 homes, 2 kittens each)! The foster care-givers came by the school to say goodbye to the kittens, which is always a little sad, but we are so appreciative of the gentle care that this mother and daughter gave to this group. The kittens are very loving, and I’m sure it’s because they received such loving care! More pictures of our playtime at the school… I’ll miss these sweeties too. Little Gary, who started out so small, has gotten his groove, and waddles around with great confidence. He’ll be going to a new home along with Sandy, and they seem to favor each other anyway. The two striped boys were hard to tell apart, at first, but we’ve gotten good at sorting them out, as I’m sure their new family will. We are so pleased that they are going out in pairs and that they have found new homes so quickly–I know that their new families are going to adore them!
4 kittens coming back from the vet’s clinic before our meeting tomorrow. He says they’re doing well, now, so hopefully they will settle in here alright. We managed to remove Mii-chan’s kittens for a short time today, using long kitchen tongs! She’ll be going for her spay on Monday, and will be released on Tuesday, so we wanted to see how the kittens would do without her. 3 were able to eat some wet food, but the boy wasn’t interested. They are smaller than they should be, probably because Mii-chan eats so little. Poor feral mom! She’ll hate to be separated from her kittens, but I know it will be such a relief for her to get back to her familiar place, and her feeders can’t wait to welcome her back. They check in with us often about her condition.
Mom with six will be called Nozomi-chan (Hope). She’s protective and a little growly, but eating very well. Can only count the kittens and check that they are moving–wouldn’t dare reach in to touch them, at this point. All are black and white, some with striped patches, just like their mother. Nozomi looks a lot like our own high-strung Jellybean. Crossing our fingers that it is more a need for protecting her young ones, than a feral nature, which is making her so standoffish.

I was thinking the exact same thing!!! I can almost imagine what he’ll look like a year from now, but I want to see those pictures side by side.

I saw that picture as I was looking through the album! That is an “awwwwwwwww” picture if I ever saw one!
I would love to see that baby picture next to a 1 year old picture of the same kitty face as a “success story” also. Hopefully Gary’s new “parents” will stay in touch!

I love this picture that Margarita took of little Gary–I’m planning to use it in the next newsletter!

Those kittens are such CUTE lil monsters!
*Sigh*
Sometimes I really wish for a kitten…an orange one….but then I have to take my 4 cats to the vet and remember why I don’t get another cat…..I can’t afford it.
Have a great life, little babies!
