Fantasia is doing really well, recently! The warmer weather seems to agree with her, and she enjoyes being out in the enclosure but has also taken to spending time with us in the house. She loves to sit on my lap and have her head scratched! It’s nice to see her skin improving, over time, and to see her becoming more and more affectionate. Her appetite is as big as ever. Today she managed to get into a shopping bag. I caught her with a package ripped open, surrounded by little tea cakes, all individually wrapped, and each one opened and chewed on! Oh the horror. One has to admire her taste, though. This picture of her was taken by Margarita, one of our group members from Tokyo. She came out over Golden Week with her husband and took some lovely pictures. It was funny to see her surrounded by the cake carnage, her face covered in crumbs! She looked very pleased with herself–I didn’t think until afterward, that I should have gotten a picture! David reminded me that we still had the evidence, so I took a picture and Fantasia was happy to demonstrate her love for cake! I’m not sure if she enjoyed tearing the celleophane, but Japanese cakes are very well wrapped, due to the humidity here. She is nothing, if not determined, which is probably why she managed to survive her previous circumstances. It seems that many of the cats that come to the shelter in bad shape have a protectively strong character. At our budget meeting last night I jokingly announced that we would have to start including tea cakes, because the cats were, in fact, eating them!

Fantasia is looking better each time you post a new photo. It seems like the worst looking cats found, turn out to be the most beautiful. She must be feeling better since she’s getting into trouble.

Oh it is so nice to see her blossoming into a beautiful little lady! What a face! Her fur does look so much healthier. Its nice to hear that she is enjoying just being a cat….
I can well imagine her in the bag with the tea cakes…here in the US, marshmallow peeps come in wrapped packs and I once had a cat that loved to open up the cellophane and “sample” the peeps. Once I forgot about his penchant and I got home from work to find peeps all over my dining room! It was hard to stay mad and I was soon laughing while cleaning up the mess.
