Baby
Adopted!
This is the
male kitten that Brittany
found alone Saturday morning, June 26th 2010. The lower half
of his body was
covered in goop (presumed to be mouse trap glue)B and he was unable to
run. He was wrestled out from
under a photo machine outside AEON Mall Takasaki. Originally pretty
wild but he seems to be socializing quickly. Probably not
a
true feral but rather the uncared for and so semi-feral offspring of a
tame mother. The vet estimates him to be 8 - 10 weeks old, and he's
tested FIV/FELV negative. He seems to be in good health. His rescuer decided to adopt him in early August.
JCN regularly brings kittens and cats to the Kanto area for adoption
and fostering. Feel free to contact
us if you are interested in meeting available candidates.

****Notes****
8/11 - I've decided to keep the kitten. I've named him Baby.
Since he has been here my own cat has been so happy it's ridiculous. He
no longer cries at night, scratches the walls, mopes or bites. It
is amazing. I haven't seen him this calm since he was diagnosed
with FIV and I had to make him an indoor cat.
I'm still being careful about the transmission of FIV. But what
material I have read says that casual contact (sharing food bowls,
litter boxes, etc) is such a rare form of transmission that I really
don't have to worry about that. And my cat and Baby get along so
fabulously I don't think fighting will ever be a problem.
Especially after Baby gets neutered.
Thank you for the advice you've given through all this. I really
appreciate it.
