Buttercup/Fu-chan
ADOPTED!
Buttercup was rescued from a TNR project
area on April 29, along with 4 siblings, at 1 week of age. They stayed
in shelter with their mother, Mii-chan,
until they could eat on their own. Mom was spayed and returned. Buttercup
was adopted in Tokyo on October 10, with her sister Blossom.

01/12/10 - "I thought I would send you a quick update on Buttercup and
Blossom (or Fu-chan and Rai-chan, as we have renamed them - as in the
God of Wind and Thunder). They are wonderful cats and are very
affectionate both to us and to each other. Right now they are playing
tag by running around the house. Fu-chan (Buttercup) is the bigger
sister and Rai-chan is the spoilt little sister. She loves to go to
wherever her sister is sitting and sit on top of her. Fu-chan is very
understanding and tolerant - what a great couple of cats (I don't think
I can call them kittens any more...)

"The
cats have settled down very well and it seems like they've been here
forever at this point. They are quite energetic and run around the
apartment chasing toys and each other. Blossom is a bit of a
mischievous girl and would run off with the toys in her mouth and take
them into hiding and wait for you to come to her. She has learned also
to bring the toys back to you to play with when she wants. Buttercup
has followed suit and it is quite entertaining to watch them chase each
other and the toys.
Until they get tired and decide to find a
nice lap to take a nap (the pictures below are mostly from when they
are sleeping - a lot easier to take a picture of them when they are
still!). They have learned to use the scratching post and other than
attacking some of the plants in the first couple of days, they have
been very well behaved. We are enjoying their presence extremely and
Buttercup is sitting on my lap as I type this out.
Here are some pictures of the two."
