October photos...
Sumi poses for a Halloween photo? Nope, this is her favorite drinking bowl these days!
October has brought cooler weather to the enclosures...
...so snuggling in beds and boxes is the trend!

Most of the kitties still like being out and about, in their enclosures, during the day.

Poppy has a bed in the enclosure, but her recent special needs give her a ticket inside, when the weather is too cool.
A new TNR project has our kitten room full! The new crew of youngest
kittens have moved into their own tall multilevel cage, but come out
for play in the kitten room, and go outside for time in their playpen.

Salem, ever the little charmer, is doing great. Little Tricky's eye's
cleared up after rescue, but a bacterial infection has moved him to the
clinic. Hansel and Gretel both have some sight impairment, which cannot
be cured, but they are otherwise doing well. Candy and Jack remain the
shyest, but are still working on becoming the friendly little kittens
that they want to be.

....Dean, Wybie and Wednesday were all in Foster care in Nagoya, but
Wednesday came back for some socialization work with David (our
resident cat whisperer). She's doing great now, and has recently
decided that she loves people! Dean and Wybie love their foster mom,
too.
Wednesday escaped from the kitten room, and made it up our steep old stairs in search
of her new favorite place--a warm lap. One of her pupils remains constantly
dilated, so her sight is somewhat impaired, but it's clear that she can
still get around very well!

Fresh air and sunshine time in the playpen...
Other new rescues in October include Skippy, Shana, and Scooby.

Josie and Alexandra came back from foster care, Alex for rehab, and
Josie to prepare for a potential new home. Their foster mom, Gina,
really helped these two through some difficult adjustment issues.
Though a bit high-strung, they are much calmer now, and have been able
to relax around the other cats.
Rose and Daisy came back to the shelter for a short time and then went
to a new home with a new Amanda. Rosey is a big fan of home cuddles!

New pictures from Koko's new home...

Pictures of Kitkat in her foster home and Chiroru (now Leo) in his new adoptive home....

New pictures of Max, who was adopted last year...

And new pictures from Buttercup and Blossom's new home.

Willy and Alice stayed at the shelter a bit before going to their new home. Ghana stayed back, for a little stress relief, but is off to her new Tokyo home in November.

Fantasia, not a fan of the cold, has mostly moved her act inside. She has to share the best spots with Birdie and Poppy. She looks marvelous these days!

Birdie came
back from Foster care and settled right in. She needs regular drips,
for kidney problems related to FIV, but is still able to enjoy the
sunny window.
